WOW!

7 months:

We found her first tooth last week.
She is so alert and overwhelmingly growing up so fast!
Olivia is already pulling up on furniture- You read that correctly!
She is anxious to catch up to Big Sister Abigail.

Rice Cereal

5 1/2 months:

Hurricane Ike made for many memories.. including Olivia's first bite of rice cereal with a spoon (not her favorite).

Here are a few pictures from this weekend.. Olivia has rolled over (from back to front) and has discovered her toes.. Too precious! She even pulled Abigail's hair for the first time this weekend.. Oh the fun ahead!

Giggles

4 months

Olivia is still doing very well. We saw Dr Nalem this week for her 4 month check-up....
17 lbs 2 ozs and 26 inches long. We cried a little during the examination but kept strong for the shots. She is really starting to recognize loved ones and strangers. She is wiggling and giggling- working hard to turn over.. Olivia is an extremely happy baby- her smile is captivating- The best moments are to catch Abigail trying to calm and love Olivia- she is only 21 months old but her personality is shining through- I guess you can tell- we are in love with both of our girls..

This Monday is a big day for the Dore girls- we are starting a new chapter at Ms Tina's- Our new sitter, Tina, appears to be a great woman with a great love for children. We feel so blessed to have found her. Livy and Abby will surely miss Mimi Mary and "my Steve" but we plan to visit often. Abigail has visited with Tina and the children (the "boys" as Abigail says) a few times and loves it already. Please pray that the transition goes well for all.. including Mimi Mary because we know she will miss the girls and the house will be quiet without them!

3 months old

Olivia is such a joyful little girl. She is all smiles (most of the time)-- dont get in the way of her meal time!! We are so VERY blessed and honored to be parents- Reminded of that daily!

Olivia will be 3 months old this Wednesday and Mommy will be 3-0.. Big week for the Dore family! I will try to smile as much as she does!

3 month check-up: 24 1/2 inches and 14 lbs 11 oz. 90-95%percentiles.. Big Baby!

GROWING!

Olivia is doing well- We saw Dr Nalam for her 4 week check up and she weighs 10 lbs 2 oz and is 21 3/4 inches long. Amazing! Of course, I was nervous that she was not gaining enough weight but she is exceeding his expectations! Abigail is really adjusting well to having a little sister and reacts to the slightest baby cry by searching the house for a pacifier or burp cloth. She has learned the meaning of "gentle" and "soft" and is putting them to practice! Abigail is still a little show-off when company visits but we all know that would have been her style regardless of Olivia's arrival.

3 weeks old already

Mark and I continue to remind each other that is not a dream-- we feel so very blessed and ask God to guide us each day through the journey of parenthood- an honor for which the rewards never end!

Olivia is doing extremely well and we will be discharged from her bili-blanket today. Her bilirubin levels were slightly high at 17.5 on Monday but decreased to 15.7 on Wednesday. She is a rock star!!!

Abigail has been a wonderful big sister- she kisses Olivia, and has recently begun to read books to Olivia. Her favorite- Abby is quick to help with diaper changes- her role is to throw away the diapers in the trash.
